Return of the Choughs
‘Return of the Choughs’ is a project about the return of the native bird of Cornwall, the red billed Chough. Choughs were commonly sighted on the coasts of Cornwall until around the 18th century when agriculture started to change therefore changing the habitats. They returned in 2001 in correlation to the increase of conservation efforts, seen in small hold farmers and conservation grazing. Documented through digital and analogue format, I wanted to record the interconnection of the inhabitance which live on the West Penwith coast where I grew up, to capture the rawness of the coast that flora, fauna and people who call it home.
